Portsmouth's Express FM is proud to announce a brand-new storytelling podcast celebrating the people who make Portsmouth what it is.

Express FM presents… Pompey People: The Portsmouth100 Podcast will shine a spotlight on the voices, experiences and untold stories from across Portsea Island.

Supported by Delivered Social and Portsmouth City Council - and fronted by Portsmouth TikTok star, community champion and proud city ambassador Terence Carvalho - the series will capture the stories of the people who live, work and create in the city every day.

The podcast launches as part of both Portsmouth100 and Express20, marking 100 years of Portsmouth being a city and 20 years of Express FM serving the community.

We’re looking to hear from people across Portsea Island and share your story - wherever you are and whatever your background.

You might be:

• A small business owner helping keep the high street alive
• A student finding your feet in the city
• A frontline worker, carer or volunteer making a difference
• A creative, musician or content creator
• A lifelong Pompey local with stories to tell
• Or someone whose journey simply deserves to be heard

Pompey People: The Portsmouth100 Podcast is all about where the city has been, where it is now and where it’s heading next - told through the people who know it best.

• Applicants must be 18+ (or have parental/guardian consent if under 18) and have a genuine connection to Portsmouth.
• All submitted information must be accurate, lawful and the applicant’s own original work.
• Submission does not guarantee participation; Express FM and its partners retain full discretion over selection and will not enter into correspondence regarding decisions.
• By applying, participants consent to being recorded (audio/video) and grant Express FM a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, edit, publish and distribute their contributions, including name, likeness, and voice, across all media.
• Express FM retains full editorial control and may edit, adapt or choose not to publish any content.
• For on-location recordings, participants must arrange and secure permission for venues, which remain subject to Express FM approval.
• Participants are responsible for obtaining consent from any third parties referenced or involved and confirm they have permission to nominate others.
• Personal data will be processed in accordance with UK GDPR and used only for purposes related to this project unless otherwise agreed.
• Express FM reserves the right to refuse, remove or edit content that is unlawful, offensive, defamatory, or inappropriate and to apply safeguarding measures where necessary.
• Applicants may withdraw prior to recording but withdrawal after recording or publication may not be possible.
• Express FM accepts no liability for participant-incurred costs or losses, including travel or venue expenses.
• Express FM reserves the right to amend these terms or cancel/postpone the project at any time.
• These terms are governed by the laws of the United Kingdom.
