Rural and Seaside Show is back this weekend

The Rural and Seaside Show brings traditional fun to the seafront when it returns to Castle Field over the bank holiday weekend, Saturday 29 April to Monday 1 May.

The free family-friendly event, held from 10am to 5pm each day, is now in its fifth year.

Attractions include: sheepdog displays, dog agility demos, the Portsmouth Warriors Cheerleaders, hula-hooping, village olympics, barrel racing, heavy horses, ferret racing, children’s crafts, owls, donkey rides, show-jumping and punch and judy shows.

The pop-up D-Day museum will be there too, along with Love Southsea Market and plenty of stalls. A dog show will be running for all three days.

Heather Todd, assistant events manager for Portsmouth City Council said: "The Rural and Seaside show is a fantastic free event, which celebrates the city's traditional seaside roots. We've had a great response since we started running this show and I am delighted that we have so many new activities this year. People seem to love the countryside feel by the seaside."
