You might know Adam Richman from Man v Food, the show that turned food challenges into must-watch television, but his latest project shows a different side to his love of food and culture.
In Adam Richman Eats Italy, Adam takes a more considered journey through one of the world’s most celebrated food nations, exploring regional dishes, traditions, and the stories behind them. I spoke to Adam back in December as the series was launching, so while this conversation might feel like a look back, it was very much of-the-moment at the time.
We talked about why Italy was the natural choice for his next adventure, and how his relationship with food has evolved over the years. From our shared experience of watching football in Italy, we moved into why, in a country like Italy, you really shouldn’t leave meals to chance, planning where you eat can make all the difference.
Adam also opens up about his friendship with the late Anthony Bourdain, including the significance of Bourdain’s final Italian meal in Rome, a moment that still resonates deeply with him.
And because no conversation with Adam Richman would be complete without sport, we finished by talking football and NFL, his love of Tottenham Hotspur, and how, despite being Brooklyn-born, he became a passionate Miami Dolphins fan.
Food, travel, sport and reflection, this episode is a reminder that the best conversations, like the best meals, are worth taking your time over.
