Blue Reef Aquarium unveils the 'Monsters of the Caribbean' this half term!

Hop on board the Blue Reef Aquarium’s monsters event this school holiday to celebrate the release of a new block buster film.

The aquarium has organised a week-long event to mark the latest instalment of the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, Salazar’s Revenge, which hits cinemas on Thursday, May 25th.

Sales and marketing manager, Hannah Butt, said: "We love going all out for school holidays and this one is no different. We have organised a whole host of pirate and mermaid themed activities to celebrate the new film hitting the big screens.

"To mark the launch of the new film we have teamed up with Vue cinema in Gunwharf and Odeon Cinema in Port Solent to offer cinema goers a swashbuckling discount."

A pirate and mermaid from The Party Belles will also be visiting the aquarium on both Saturday, May 27th and June, 4th and will provide entertainment for the day.Visitors will be able to meet and greet the two real life characters from 11.30am-4pm.

The mermaid and pirate will also be blowing bubbles, providing glitter tattoos and walking around the aquarium.

Hannah added: "This is the first time we have had a pirate and a mermaid actor at the aquarium. The staff are all really excited for the activities that will be going on and we hope visitors are too. It is a great day for any budding mermaids, mermen or pirates to meet a real-life character."

The event will run until June 4th, and the aquarium will be open from 10am until 6pm, with last admission at 5pm.

The aquarium has its very own fully-enclosed outdoor Beach Club area, equipped with sandpits, play equipment and water fountains. Picnic benches are readily available and are over looking the bustling Solent.
