Kirsty Roxanne takes a closer look at Portsmouth's final day opponents at Fratton Park.
45 games played and just 1 more to go with Portsmouth already securing Championship football for another season, though not much can be said yet for the side that make the visit to Fratton Park.
Relegation-threatened side Hull City head down to PO4 with a must-win mentality to make sure they face the Blues again next season.
MANAGER
Rubén Sellés is at the helm of The Tigers.
The Spanish football manager has also managed the likes of Southampton in the Premier League, as well as Reading and the Valencia Under-18s.
Sellés was announced as the new head coach for Hull City back in December and signed on a 2-and-a-half-year deal following the departure of Tim Walter to become the club’s third manager of the campaign.
ONE TO WATCH
Our one to watch is none other than Abu Kamara.
Coming through the youth academy at Norwich, he joined Portsmouth on loan last season and scored his first senior goal whilst with the Blues.
Kamara was a key part of the squad that helped Pompey secure automatic promotion to the Championship, racking up 8 league goals and 10 assists.
After returning to Norwich, he was approached by multiple Championship sides before making the move to Hull at the end of August, signing a 4-year deal for a sum reported to be in excess of £4million.
Wearing the number 44 shirt, he has netted 5 goals and claimed 3 assists this season.
TOP SCORER
João Pedro is the leading goalscorer for The Tigers.
The forward spent most of his career with Serie A outfit Cagliari from 2014 to 2022 where he was captain. Additionally, he had brief spells in the top divisions of Brazil, Portugal, Uruguay and Turkey.
Pedro joined Hull in September, marking his first contract in English football.
The number 12 has scored 6 goals this season, however only appearing off the bench in their last 2 fixtures against Preston and Derby.
CURRENT FORM
After The Tigers were beaten 1-0 at home by relegation rivals Derby, they dropped into the bottom 3 last weekend and now occupy 22nd in the league with just 48 points.
The teams above, Luton, Preston and Derby, have all accumulated 49 points so far this campaign. Their fate for another season in the Championship remains entirely in their own hands due to fixtures elsewhere - A win and they stay up, it is that simple.
Will the Blues relegate Hull and their former loanee down to League One? A win at Fratton Park and it happens.
Pompey Live returns with extended build-up of the final game of the season this Saturday (May 3rd) morning from 11am - Jake Smith will be joined in the press box alongside Kirsty Roxanne, James Wilson and Dean Adams with Jordan Cross (The News), Joe Collins (Hull City fan) and John Mousinho (Portsmouth head coach) all featuring throughout the broadcast.
Kick-off: 12:30pm!
