American shot-stopper Duncan Turnbull has signed a 13-month contract at Fratton Park, with the club holding the option to extend that by another year.
The 21-year-old's signature was secured yesterday evening, 5 weeks after first being invited to train with the club.
Pompey have obtained Duncan Turnbull's services until the summer of 2021, with the club holding an option for a further year.
Turnbull told iFollow Pompey prior to the announcement: "It's fantastic to be at such a big club with so much history. I can't wait to see what happens."
He went on to reveal some family connections linking him to the city of Portsmouth: "My grandparents live in Fareham, so I've been able to stay with them. It's great that they're close by and I can see them so often. My grandfather is a huge fan and has had a season ticket in the North Stand for around 20 years."

ing spent four seasons with the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, a football team which represents the University of Notre Dame in the USA. Turnbull studied accounting there and graduated back in December, prior to his relocation to this side of the pond.
Could Duncan Turnbull come in and challenge for a starting spot straight away? It seems unlikely with the form shown by homegrown youngster Alex Bass recently, but the new signing is adamant that he's not here to just be forgotten about.
"I want to come in and push the other keepers." - he told iFollow Pompey.
First-team manager Kenny Jackett was clearly pleased with his performance in-between the sticks against the Navy at HMS Temeraire on Tuesday afternoon, despite being on the receiving end of a 3-1 defeat.
