Former Portsmouth Defender Anton Walkes Dies Age 25

The defender, who also played for Tottenham Hotspur, has died after being involved in a boat crash near Miami.

After starting his playing career in youth teams at Tottenham, Walkes joined Pompey on loan in January 2018. He quickly made an impact at Portsmouth when he scored on his debut, in a 2–2 draw against Doncaster Rovers. He signed for Pompey permanently in July 2018 on a two-year contract. 

Overall, he played 66 games for Portsmouth before moving stateside in 2020 returning to Major League Soccer club Atlanta United. More recently he played for Charlotte FC after being selected in the 2021 MLS Expansion Draft.
